We are so happy that you are here, and we are excited to share our way of life with you! The monastery is the heart of our entire Brothers and Sisters of Charity community, and monastic life is the contemplative beating heat of the entire Church and of her mission on earth. (See Pope Francis, General Audience, April 26, 2023). Keeping monastic life alive with supporters and new vocations is vital to the life of the entire Church today. Today’s world is fragmented and polarized. Unfortunately, this even overflows into our Church and consecrated life. This often leaves us discouraged and confused. But there is an answer! Monastic life is the most ancient and stable way of community life in the Church for those who want to go the extra mile with Jesus. From Antony and Pachomius in Egypt, Basil in Cappadocia and Augustine in Northern Africa, Benedict and Scholastica in Italy and Europe, as well as Francis and Clare, this way of life has grown and like a mighty tree or a glorious spiritual temple that has blessed the entire Church and world. The Monastic Expression of the Brothers and Sisters of Charity is a way to bring that charism to all states of life and spiritualities in today’s Church in an ancient but new and creative way. It is an exciting and challenging time to be alive. And we excited to be a part of this community!
